Guided Heritage Walks - Bromborough Pool Village
About
Join us for a fascinating journey through time with free guided heritage walking tours around the historic Bromborough Pool Village as part of National Heritage Week.Step into one of Britain’s best preserved model villages and uncover the remarkable story of the community built around industry, innovation and family life. From its distinctive architecture and historic streets to the stories of the people who lived and worked here, Bromborough Pool offers a unique glimpse into Victorian village life.
Built between 1853 and 1858 for the workers of the nearby Price's Patent Candle Company candle factory, the village was created as a pioneering example of industrial philanthropy; providing quality housing, green spaces and community facilities for employees and their families. Predating the nearby Port Sunlight by several decades, Bromborough Pool is recognised as one of the earliest and most important examples of an English industrial model village.
